Curzon welcomed Bradford Park Avenue to the Tameside stadium, in this reverse fixture over the Christmas period hoping to turn over the 3-1 defeat which Curzon suffered at the Horsfall stadium on Boxing day.

Curzon started nervously on the backfoot as Bradford put on the early pressure but on four minutes Curzon finally got a foot on the ball and launched an attack down the left through Ryan Brooke but it came to nothing as Mack Ross slid in and brought him down.

On 16 minutes Curzon launched their first promising attack as the ball was played up to Niall Cummins who did well holding the ball while waiting for support, support arrived via Brooke and Jordan Wright but the 1-2 between the two inside the box saw the flag raised for offside, the offender being Brooke.

As for Bradford, for all their possession they had yet to trouble Cameron Mason in Curzon's goal.

On the half an hour mark the game came to life, Bradford's Matt Hill caused panic inside the Curzon box with a low shot from the edge of the box to the left which took two deflections but finally going away to safety, Curzon quickly tried to counter but on reaching Bradford's box they couldn't find a way through the Bradford's back line.

On 41 minute's the fans were out of their seats when Brooke played in Cummins who from the edge of the box saw the opportunity to shoot but the excitement was short lived as the ball rose high over the crossbar.

Two minutes later Paul Marshall saw his deflected shot just go inches wide of the Bradford's far post as Curzon looked to go in at half time with the lead.

For the start of the second half the rain started to come down heavier with a strong wind blowing from right to left which was going to cause a difficulties for both sides with mistakes inevitable.

But it was Bradford who took to the conditions better as the second half started as Oli Johnson, cut in from the right to curl in a shot on 47 minutes but fortunately for Curzon it did not trouble Mason.

Curzon's best chance fell to Sam Madeley a minute after replacing Brooke, a long ball forward by Joe Guest to Cummins saw him play the ball into the path of the advancing Madeley, Madeley hit his effort from 20 yards with power but Bradfords's keeper Steven Drench stood firm and parried it away for a corner.

GOAL On 61 minutes Bradford took the lead with a well worked goal, winning the ball in the midfield area, it was played out to the right, the cross came in & Oli Johnson making a run across the box met the ball to head home into the net at Mason's near post.

The game then turned into a battle with no side really taking the foothold and with very few chances from either side, on 80 minutes a shot cum cross from Jamie Spencer just missed the crossbar and landed on top of the Curzon net.

But as everyone was getting to go home Curzon were awarded a corner in the last minute of added time, Mason joined every other player from Curzon in the Bradford Box, as the ball came in, it seemed that every blue shirt jumped for the ball including Mason in his bright orange top and the ball was headed home into the bottom corner of the net with Sam Madeley claiming the goal.

A great finish for the fans but an awful home performance from Curzon who will be thankful for the point. As for Bradford they would feel that they lost two points in a game they should have won.
