The information you need ahead of the new season

During the pre season we introduced a new online ticketing system with Ticket Source. The three home games have gone well with improvements made following feedback from each game - something we will continue to listen to.

So why make the change ?
Fingers crossed, we are coming through the worst of the impacts of COVID but the pandemic has made us all have to think differently, so we first had to think about how we can comply with a number of Government requirements, which may, but hopefully not, return again in future.

The Club operates with the help of a small but fully committed group of volunteers. Over recent seasons, we've been stretched to capacity and that has, at times, adversely affected the experience at the ground with delays at the turnstiles, particularly close to kick-off. If you have used the system already, you will already know that it now just takes seconds to scan your ticket and enter the stadium.

Why no cash turnstiles?
As well as slowing the entry process down, it also creates a security risk that can now be avoided by using the new and simple to use technology. Fans may remember that we experienced 2 break-ins over the festive period a couple of years ago. Our belief being that whoever carried out the robberies did so on the understanding that cash would not have been banked during the Bank Holiday. It also removes the potential risk of cash being transferred from the turnstiles.

Validating the cash receipts and attendance can often take more than an hour to complete meaning that our volunteers also miss the opportunity to actually get behind the team for most of the game.

What if I don't have access to a smart phone or PC ?
Where we are able to (for security reasons this may not always be possible), tickets can be purchased for cash only from main reception. This will generally be no more than 100 tickets and only available until 30 minutes before KO. Your ticket will then allow the attendance to be tracked in real time.

The online facility will allow you to buy a ticket right up to kick off, if not sold out.

Finally, to ensure everyone's comfort and safety, by allowing the purchase of tickets ahead of the game, we can plan appropriate stewarding and food and drink outlets.

We are trying to improve the experience for everyone. The pandemic has helped to accelerate some of the technology that allows us to do that more effectively now so we are asking all supporters to get behind the changes and help us help you whilst we look at many more initiatives, like Football for a Fiver, that will see our supporter base grow.

The manager has assembled an exciting young squad and we look forward to you all getting behind the team again this season. It's been a long wait to get you back !
