Adam Lakeland returns to the Tameside Stadium as the new first team manager

Curzon Ashton Football Club are delighted to announce to appointment of Adam Lakeland as the new first team manager. Lakeland joins the club after an agreement was made between his previous employers, Farsley Celtic, for him to take up the role at the Tameside Stadium.

The 36-year-old re-joins the club for a second spell and will be hoping to replicate the success he experienced in his first stint at the club. Between January 2012 and June 2015 Lakeland was a first team coach at the Nash under John Flanagan and was a part of the back-to-back promotion winning team that made it to the Vanarama National League North for the first time.

Since leaving the Nash, Lakeland has proved himself to be a very talented manager in his own right. During his spell at Northwich Victoria, he guided his side to the playoffs despite woes off the pitch, including a nine-point deduction. His team were finally beaten by Spennymoor Town and amid financial issues at the EVO-STIK Division 1 side, he resigned.

He was out of football until his appointment at Farsley in the summer of 2017. In his time at the Celt Army, he achieved promotion to the Vanarama National League North and won the West Riding County FA Cup. He has kept them there ever since, achieving a highest finish of 11th place and leaves Farsley with them currently sitting in 14th place after 11 games played.

Curzon Ashton would like to state on record their gratitude to Farsley for their cooperation in assisting the club secure this deal. Lakeland was identified as one of the clubs’ top targets to fill the vacant managerial position and the club are very excited to work with Adam going forward.
