First-Half
The visitors started the brighter as Dan Jarvis attempted to bend an effort from just outside the area, palmed away by Cam Mason. Dan Jarvis would be involved again as his corner is recycled by Hugh Alban-Jones, volleying from outside the area, just wide of the right post.
A mistake at the back for the Turbines would undo all their early pressure as Jimmy Spencer pounces on a poor touch by Rory McAuley, finding the bottom corner past Peter Crook with the outside of his right boot, 1-0. However, it wouldn’t be long before the Turbines make the most of their pressure as that man Dan Jarvis is in the right place at the right time to direct a rebounded cross into the top right corner, leaving Cam Mason with no chance, 1-1. Josh McCammon was next to test Cam Mason in the Nash goal, as he hit from outside the box with the outside of his boot but it’s easily caught.
The danger duo, Jimmy Spencer and Stefan Mols linked up midway through the Peterborough Sports half, with the latter having a shot at goal, not troubling Peter Crook too much. The hosts would come close to a second as Jimmy Spencer flicks on an Adam Barton cross at the near post but it’s brilliantly saved by Peter Crook.
Second-Half
Peterborough Sports started the second-half with the same intention as the first, pure pressure on the Nash backline, resulting in a cross from the Turbines captain Mark Jones, powered onto the crossbar by Gabriel Overton, bouncing mere millimetres from going over the line.
The visitors would once again make the most of their pressure as a cross from the right, arrows onto the head of Mark Jones, who rose above everyone in the box to head home past Cam Mason, 2-1. With time running out, the Nash applied the pressure, a cross by Jordan Richards from the right finds Will Hayhurst, heading well wide of his intended target.
Hayden Campbell would attempt to replicate his goal against Banbury United with a shot from outside the box being pushed away by Peter Crook. The ex-Silkmen forward would have another attempt soon after, bending wildly over and wide of the goal.
